Bibek works as a Project Manager at teh Department of Design and Construction(DDC), New York City Government, Public Buildings for teh past five years. His projects include building civic structures and infrastructure New Yorkers uses every day as well as Mayors directly funded Human service program such as major renovation and rehabilitation of homeless shelter, UPK outreach programs and developing COVID testing sites throughout teh city. As part of a capital project, he is responsible for working wif different city client agencies, consultants, contractors, vendors, and leading project plans from initiation to closeout. His day-to-day task involves, gathering and analyzing requirements to define teh high-level scope while identifying teh key stakeholders.
As part of project initiation, he formally kicks in to roll out the project and gets involved wif the procurement process. Upon successfully procuring product, material, consultants, and vendors, his role involves developing a project charter, creating a baseline schedule, identifying critical path, and breaking it down into manageable monthly, bi-weekly, and day to day WBS activities. Furthermore, developing and managing teh team including clients and not limited to different regulatory city agencies while managing deliverables, quality, milestones, identifying and executing KPI’s, meeting teh benchmark set forth by project controls. During teh planning phase, he develops an extensive project plan as working closely wif teh client in order to address teh product is as intended while ensuring requirements are executed wifin teh realm of design documents, specifications, and contracts.
In addition planning phase being very critical in setting up expectations, he heavily involves communicating wif primes, subs, and consultants in order to execute a plan of action while monitoring and controlling scope work, cost and quality. During executing phase formulating risk remediation plans using different strategies such as gap analysis to mitigate project deviations while increasing efficiency throughout teh project lifecycle. Finally, during teh close-out phase working wif teh client, consultants to obtain teh signoff and tan formally closing out by issuing a certification of completion, releasing retainage, and archiving teh final report as a lesson learned document.
Prior to DDC, He’s worked on pharmaceutical giants such as Johnson and Johnson, PA as a Quality Engineer. Currently, he is managing over 50M+ projects at Bellevue, Manhattan, NY. Over teh year’s he acquired strong diagnostic leadership and developed critical analysis on making better decisions wif a proven track record of managing complex projects wifin a schedule and budget wif a strong reputation for high commitment, integrity, and resourcefulness.
He graduated with a Master’s in Information Technology from Touro Collège and University, New York, NY, and holds various professional certifications including Project Management Professional. He has vast Project Management experience wif an IT academic background and deep insight knowledge on processes related to teh government domain.
